I hope everyone is enjoying their yom tov.
This time of year as we get closer to changing our clocks one hour back, the time for sunrise gets later and later. This causes a problem for us being able to put our tallis and tefillin on at the beginning of davening, particularly at our first shacharis minyan during the week. The problem has already begun now during chol hamoed as we daven a little earlier than usual. As a result I have suggested we put our tallis and tefillin on after yishtabach(and the chazan before yistabach). In the next few weeks, before we change our clocks, this will become necessary even when Shacharis will begin as late as 6:40 and 6:45AM.
On this Wednesday morning, which is Hoshana Raba, the earliest time to put on our tallis and tefillin is 6:34AM. We had originally scheduled Shacharis for 6:15AM. However since we cannot put on our tallis and tefillin until 6:34AM, we should start shacharis five minutes later at 6:20AM. Then when we reach yishtabach at 6:34AM we will be able to put on our tallis and tefillin and continue shacharis from there.
Enjoy the rest of yom tov.
