Rabbi’s Message & YIGC Announcements for 12/30/17
I hope you are all staying as warm as possible. Remember spring is not far away.
This Shabbos, Parshas Vayechi, is the 3rd annual TEAM Shabbos. TEAM stands for Traditional End-of-life Awareness Movement. This is a program created by an organization called NASCK, National Association of Chevra Kadisha. The purpose of this program is to address and generate awareness regarding the value of life and the importance of making appropriate end of life decisions. There will be some brochures for your taking at the Stone building, if you are interested in knowing more about this topic. Please do not hesitate to approach me if you have any questions about this very important subject.
This coming Monday, January 1st , our kollel will have another in their series of Breakfast & Learning Programs on the legal holidays. This time the topic will be “Building A Modern Day Mikvah”. As everyone has heard by now, our community is building a new mikvah. We thought it would a great opportunity to get everyone into the mode of working towards our new mikvah, and educating us at the same time on some of the intricate issues that go into building a mikvah. Rabbi Baum will lead us through what I am sure will be a fascinating discussion on this topic. I strongly encourage you to attend if you can.
Have a great Shabbos.
