Rabbi’s Message & YIGC Announcements for 3/17/18
I hope your Pesach preparations are coming along okay, without too much stress. Just remember that some of the cleaning that we do for Pesach is not really necessary from the perspective of Hilchos Pesach, but rather from the perspective of Hilchos spring cleaning. So don’t get too carried away.
Now with the clock change we are partially on our Shabbos summer schedule. We will have two minyanim tonight, one at 6:05PM and one at 7:20PM, at the Stone Synogogue, and one minyan at the Hebrew Academy branch at 6:05PM. Our switching to two minyanim on Shabbos afternoon will begin the first Shabbos after Pesach. That is when we will begin our summer Shabbos afternoon shiurim. I will keep you informed as we get closer about the specifics.
Last week we had a close call with our eruv. We have been blessed with an eruv that has served our community for over 30 years. Last week’s close call is a reminder of how important our eruv is, and that it should not be taken for granted. In addition, we must not forget that we must continue to support it financially as well. It is also an important reminder that we should call each week on Erev Shabbos to make sure the eruv is up, and not make any assumptions.
Have a great Shabbos and a gutten chodesh.
