A tragedy happened last Sunday, January 14, 2018: There was a shuttle boat that left the shore from Port Richey, Florida and pretty soon after leaving the shore the passengers realized smoke was billowing out and a fire had started. The captain managed to get the boat back to 4ft of water so crew and passengers could jump off. There were 18 injured and one fatality.
That fatality was Mrs. Carrie Dempsey who was 42 years old and a widow herself, she is the niece of Barbara Adler Kleid, a former member of our community. Carrie’s husband died suddenly in 2011 with no insurance and she raised twin children– a daughter and son who are now orphans at the tender age of 12 yrs old.
Money is being raised to assist these orphans at this tragic time in their lives.
