This Shabbos is Shabbos Chazone and Erev Tisha B’Av. Tomorrow afternoon there will be only one Mincha at 6:15 PM (6:00 PM at the HAC branch). Our Pre-Mincha class will be on a Tisha B’Av related topic. When Shabbos is over at 9:22 PM one should say “Baruch Hamavdil Bein Kodesh L’chol”, which now permits us to put on our Tisha B’Av shoes and to drive to shule. At shule we will daven Maariv at 9:35 PM. Before beginning Eichah we will make the bracha “Borei Mi-orai Ha-aish” and then say Eichah, Kinnos and the rest of Maariv. Please look at our schedule for the times for the minayanim on Tisha B’Av day. At the conclusion of Tisha B’Av, before breaking our fast, Havdalah must be said. The bracha over the wine (or grape juice or whatever you normally make Havdallah on) should be said, along with the concluding paragraph of Havdalah (Hamavdil Bein Kodesh L’chol).
If you have any questions about fasting or anything else, please feel free to contact me.
Have a great Shabbos and a meaningful and easy fast.
