“Kiddush Group” Reconstituted
At last Sunday’s meeting the Executive Board agreed to reconstitute the “Kiddush Group,” in order to provide the necessary funding for a “hot” Kiddush every Shabbos (when there is no other sponsor). We agreed that our members and guests enjoy the opportunity to enjoy a bowl of cholent as they socialize after davening, so long as funding is available. The cost of a “basic” hot Kiddush (cholent/kugal) is about $425/week.
A separate “Kiddush Group” account has been established in the office, which will be the source of payment for future unsponsored kiddushes for the main 9 a.m. minyan. We are asking all members to voluntarily contribute to the “Kiddush Group” account, preferably on an ongoing monthly basis. Suggested amounts run from $18 to $30 per month, but there is no minimum or maximum charge and any contributions are welcome. Your generous support will be greatly appreciated.
Reuven Freund, as in the past, will coordinate our Shabbos kiddushes, and will answer any questions that you may have.
Jeffrey Belkin, President
This year because it is a leap year we have two Adar’s, Adar Rishone and Adar Sheini. We celebrate Purim in Adar Sheini. However we also treat the 14th and 15 of Adar Rishone as minor holidays. We do not say Tachanun or Lomnatzaich in davening, as we wouldn’t say them on any Yom Tov. In addition people often add something to their meals on those days to add an air of Yom Tov and Simcha to them. We are always looking for excuses to party.
I am looking forward to seeing you at our Trivia evening this Motzai Shabbos. Thank you again to the chair people for all their work in putting together this great program.
If you haven’t made a reservation for our Wine Tasting evening, next Sunday night ,February 24, please do so, as your earliest convenience. I am sure all in attendance will enjoy.
Have a great Shabbos.
Our shul is partnering with the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation on a great $100,000 sweepstakes with lots of GREAT prizes. Everyone can and should participate. You’ve got to be in it to win it.
