Rabbi’s Message & YIGC Announcements for 12/23/17
I hope everyone had a meaningful and enjoyable Chanukah.
As our community continues to grow, there are more and more programs and organizations being created to help in the growth of our community. Some are more demanding of our resources while others are less demanding. I want to introduce our membership to a relatively new organization, known as “Simchas Alta Vita Cleveland Hachnosas Kallah”. This project is a local hachnosas kallah program established to assist eligible Cleveland kallahs in a confidential and most dignified way, with necessary items to start their home. As you may have seen on our Local Jewish News, they are scheduling an evening of entertainment for the women of our community this coming Tuesday evening, December 26, at 7:30 pm at the Acacia Country Club, 26899 Cedar Road in Beachwood. For more specifics about the evening, you can look on our Local Jewish News. If you can fit it into your schedule, I recommend you attend and see the wonderful things this organization has and continues to do for the kalllos of our community.
As we are about to close out the year of 2017, please use the opportunity to pay up any outstanding obligations to our shule. Also, please do not forget to contribute to our local eruv. Each year, at this time of year, our local eruv asks the members of our community to continue to support our eruv, so we can continue to have one. A suggested donation of hundred and fifty dollars a year per family is what we can do to allow our community to enjoy the benefits of an eruv.
Clilei HaChodesh for Teves is now available in the shul and on our website.
Attention members and friends, with the new tax law going into effect in 2018 it may be beneficial to you to fulfill any existing commitments to Young Israel by year end. More so than in previous tax years. Please consult your accountant for specific advice. You can make a donation here on the website http://yigc.org/product/donation/ or send a check in to the office.
