Rabbi’s Message & YIGC Announcements for 1/11/20
Oneg Tonight, January 10 at 8 pm at the home of Moshe & Adina Ornstein, 23805 Woodway in Beachwood at 8:00 pm
Tonight we will have another of our series of Oneg Shabbos’es, at the home of Moshe and Adina Ornstei, 23805 Woodway Road in Beachwood at 8:00 PM. Please join us for some interesting divrei toah and an enjoyable Oneg Shabbos. I do want to remind everyone of the importance of wearing a reflector over your coats as you walk through the streets at night. Last week we gave out reflectors and almost all were taken. I hope to have more reflectors to give out, either this week or next week. I hope that those that took them last week will wear them, and they won’t just collect dust in their closets.
Over the last five years, this Shabbos, Parshas Vayechi has become known as “Team Shabbos”. Team stands for Taditional End-of-Life Awareness Movement. Because it is the parsha dealing with the death and burial of Yaakov Avinu, it was chosen as the Shabbos to remind people about the importance of treating end of life issues correctly according to halacha and tradition. I will leave some material in the shule for those who are interested in pursuing the topic further. If anyone has any questions about this topic, please do not hesitate to approach me about it. I know it is a topic we would prefer not to talk about. However, we must be educated enough to know what is right and what is not.
Have a great Shabbos. Stay warm and dry.
