Please forgive my long winded message. There are a lot of good things going on (Baruch Hashem).
This Shabbos we have the pleasure of welcoming Our Way, a division of Yachad/NJCD- an agency of the Orthodox Union. Our Way is the arm of the OU which services the needs of deaf individuals and families in the Jewish community. Their director is Rabbi Eliezer Lederfeind, who will be joining us for Shabbos as well. I hope they will have an inspiring and enjoyable Shabbos with us.
We say a very special tefilah, known by its name, Anim Zemiros, every Shabbos and Yom Tov morning. We have traditionally said this tefilah at the end of Mussaf, just before the end of davening. Unfortunately, at this point of the davening, with the end of davening in close range, there has been a lot of talking and the honor this special tefilah deserves has been lost. To hopefully solve this problem, we will be moving Anim Zemiros to the conclusion of Shacharis before krias hatorah. This should bring an added sense of kedusha to this very holy tefilah.
This Shabbos afternoon at 5:30 pm, we will continue our series, entitled “Building and Maintaining a Jewish Home”. We will continue to focus on some important aspects of Shalom Bayis, and continue our discussion of how to design a kosher kitchen. Special attention will be devoted to understanding what standards of kashrus we should bring into our homes. I hope to see you.
This coming Motzai Shabbos/Sunday is Yom Yerushalayim. Please join our kehila for the tefilos on Yom Yerushalayim, as we thank Hashem for his chesed of giving us back Yerushalayim.
Last but not least, I am pretty sure you have all seen the signs and reminders about our flower sale for Shavuos. It is a great way to help the shule and enhance our Yom Tov tables with beautiful flowers. You might consider sending flowers to friends in honor of Yom Tov. Your support of this project would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to purchase flowers, please do so as early in the coming week as possible.
Have a great Shabbos.
