Parshas Shelach-Mevorchim HaChodesh Tammuz
SHABBOS MINYANIM INSIDE STONE SYNAGOGUE!
CLILEI HACHODESH FOR TAMMUZ IS AVAILABLE ON THE YIGC WEBSITE AND IN THE ATRIUM
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the nice weather we have had over the last few weeks.
Assuming that you have been reading your recent emails from the shul, you are aware that this coming Shabbos we are planning on moving back into our shul. It has been over three months, and I and many of our members are excited to be going back in. I understand that there are those who are still hesitant to go indoors. Please do not feel pressured to come inside if you are not ready to do so. We intend to make the transition as safe as possible and to maintain those safe standards for as long as they are necessary. I pray that we will be successful in slowly bringing us back to where we want to be.
As we plan on moving back into our Mikdash Me-at (small Mikdash), it is an opportunity to thank Hashem for allowing us back at home in our shul. It is also an opportunity for us to see how we can enhance the sanctity of our special home. I am sure everyone can suggest some areas of improvement that could and would enhance our shul. I would like to suggest two important points that we have discussed in the past. The first is to work on the decorum during our Tefilah. Social distancing should help, but I think we should make an extra effort to be more careful about not talking during the davening.
The other suggestion I would like to make is to turn off our cell phones and/or smart phones when we enter the shul. It is a distraction not only for those using their devices, but also for the others around them. Please give it a try, for your sake, and for the sake of the Tzibur.
It goes without saying that a great way to enhance our Tefilos is if we can all be more careful about coming on time for davening. The davening feels much more meaningful when we are all together, davening together.
I look forward to seeing you and helping to recreate our beautiful Makom Tefilah.
Have a great Shabbos.
