Rabbi’s Message & YIGC Announcements for 3/16/19
2nd READING OF PARSHAS ZACHOR AFTER MUSAF AT BOTH BRANCHES
Purim is almost here, and the festive spirit of Purim is already in the air. I want to remind everyone of some of the highlights of the coming week.
This Shabbos we will have a Carlbach Kabbolas Shabbos tefilah to get us in the spirit of Purim
On Shabbos morning we will be reading Parshas Zachor. There will be a second reading right after davening for those who might have missed it the first time.
Motzai Shabbos we will have our third Women’s Learning Initiative program.
This Sunday night will be our annual Purim party.
On Purim day from 3:15 to 4:30 PM the men of our kehilla are invited to our home for an open house.
Of course I hope you will join us over Shabbos and Purim for our tefilos and megillah readings. You will be able to fulfill the mitzvah of Matanos L’evyonim by putting money in the plates we will put out over Purim. The monies will be given out locally and in Eretz Yisroel over Purim.
On a not so pleasant note, our local Bikur Cholim has informed us that a mother of 3 small children in our community has recently been diagnosed with ALS. Her family and friends have requested that the community take upon themselves to refrain from talking during davening and laining this Shabbos, Parshas Zachor as a merit for a refuah shlaima for her and other cholim in our community. Her hebrew name is Bracha Bryna Luba Bas Chana.
Have a great Shabbos, and a freilichin Purim.
Our shul is partnering with the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation on a great $100,000 sweepstakes with lots of GREAT prizes. Everyone can and should participate. You’ve got to be in it to win it.
