Rabbi’s Message & YIGC Announcements for 11/10/18
Important Security Message:
Starting tonight, November 9, on Friday night the Stone Synagogue doors will be locked 15 minutes after Mincha starts.
A special thank you to Dovid and Sara Farkas for opening up their lovely home for our annual Women’s Oneg Shabbos. Having had the pleasure to come and share a short dvar torah, I saw the very nice turnout and could tell that those in attendance were enjoying themselves. Thank you for attending.
I am very excited about the first in the series of our YIGC Women’s Learning Initiative, scheduled for this coming Motzai Shabbos. Please check our announcements for the specifics. Because of the overwhelming response, some changes were made to the program to accommodate the crowd. A very special thank for all those who worked so hard to put together this wonderful program.
In the spirit of having our learning in memory of those killed in the recent tragedy in Pittsburgh, I am starting a short class before Mincha on Shabbos afternoon. We will be learning a sefer called Shaarei Efraim. It is a great source for the traditions we follow in our tefilos both during the week and on Shabbos and Yom Tov, and a wonderful resource for anyone who was a gabbai, is a gabbai, or would like to be a gabbai. It will meet in the main shule one half hour before Mincah. This week it will be at 4:10PM.
I also want to remind everyone that our local Eiruv is in the middle of their annual campaign. We all know how important our eiruv is to us and to our community. It needs our support. Please respond to the letter they recently sent asking for $150.00 per family to maintain our eiruv.
Have a great Shabbos.
