Rabbi’s Message & YIGC Announcements for 11/3/18
Clilei HaChodesh for Kislev is available both in the Atrium and on the website
This has been a very difficult week for everyone, in particular the Jewish community of Pittsburgh. Our tefilos are for a refuah shlaima for those injured in the attack, and our hearts go out to the families of the eleven korbanos who perished last Shabbos. Please attempt to attend our Shabbos morning minyan this Shabbos as I would like to share some of my feelings on how we should go forward after this tragedy. I also want to assure everyone, as you have probably been following some of the meetings and e-mails that have been going around this past week, that we are committed to making our shule as safe as we can and to make our misspallilim feel safe and secure. A special thank you again to Paul Gewirtz for coordinating all the necessary components to make our kehilla more safe and secure.
On a more positive note, I want to remind the women of our shule, that tomorrow, Shabbos afternoon, we will have our annual Oneg Shabbos for women at the home of David and Sarah Farkas, 2511 Rubyvale Road, in University Heights from 4:15 to 5:30PM. There will be a short dvar torah during the oneg.
In addition I want to remind the woman of our shule and any other women in our community about our first event of our Women’s Initiative of learning which will be next Motzai Shabbos, November 10. I am sure that you have seen the publicity for this event. Please plan on coming and having an inspiring and fun evening. In order to have a sufficient refreshments for those attending, we need to know the number of people attending. So please e-mail your reservations to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
Have a great Shabbos.
