Rabbi’s Message, YIGC Announcements, & Kidz Korner Parsha Sheet for 12/5/2020

Beginning with Maariv on Motzei Shabbos, December 5, 2020 לברכה ותן טל ומטר (V’Sein Tal U’Matar Livracha) replaces ברכה ותן (V’Sein Bracha) in the blessing of Boreich Oleinu in the Shemonah Esray.

Dear Member,

There are a few important upcoming items that I would like to remind you of.

 1) This coming Motzai Shabbos, in the Maariv Shmoneh  Esrai, we begin to say the phrase “v’sain tal umatar” in the bracha of Bareich Aleinu. Please reference our December mailing, where I listed the halachos in case one forgot or is not sure if they said it correctly or not.

 2) I assume you saw the flyer we sent you about our donut sale in honor of Chanukah.  Please take a few moments to look at the flyer and buy some donuts either as a treat for your family or for someone else to enjoy over Chanukah.

 3) Please join us for a special zoom program this coming Monday night, December 7, as we pay tribute to the memory of two great leaders,  Horav Dovid Feinstein ZT”L and Rabbi, Lord, Saks ZT”L, who recently passed away.  The Zoom  information is below.

 4) Please check your e-mail for a special letter we sent you earlier today about our attempt to tighten up a bit more our safety guidelines, as the Covid 19 virus has spread more into our community.  Please be on board with us as we attempt to continue functioning as a shule and at the same time maintain as safe an atmosphere as is possible.

Have a great Shabbos and a safe and enjoyable Chanukah.

 Sincerely,

 Rabbi Burnstein

COVID 19 Update:

Over the course of the last several months the Young Israel of Greater Cleveland has set clear guidelines attempting to create a safe environment for our members and guests.

Due to a recent up-tick in COVID-19 cases in our community we again ask for your cooperation and patience as we attempt to maintain a healthy environment for the shul.

Over the last several weeks our local Jewish Day Schools have placed students with COVID-19 exposure into quarantine.  However, the spread continued to increase in our local community.  Now, some of our local Jewish Day Schools are closed and have gone to virtual learning through Chanukah.

We kindly request for all those in quarantine and students that are in remote learning due to school closures refrain from davening at the Young Israel.

We hope these measures help maintain a safe and healthy environment for those attending shul.  It is our hope that schools will reopen quickly and safely, and our children can resume in person activities at school and davening at shul.
