Shabbos Announcements 01/08/22

ONEG ON FRIDAY NIGHT, JANUARY 7 IS CANCELLED

WOMEN’S MELAVA MALKA FEATURING CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST , Dr. Elana Rosencrantz—MOTZEI SHABBOS, JANUARY 8, 2022, 7:30 PM.

 Dear Member,

This past week Rabbi Moshe Garfunkel ZT”L passed away.  Rabbi Garfunkel was the rabbi of Congregation Zichron Chaim for thirty six years.  He was a colleague, mentor and friend.  Rabbi Garfunkel had a very strong impact on the growth of our community.  Whether it was in his role as a posek, who handled the halachic questions of many individuals and families in our community and outside the community, or in his role as an advisor who guided many people and helped them through their personal issues or dilemmas. Rabbi Garfunkel also was a friend to many people.  He was warm and engaging, with a great smile, and a great sense of humor.  We often met to discuss problems in the community, and he always found a way to put a little humor into the situation.  It often worked in taking off the edge for those involved .  He will be sorely missed, not only by his kehilla, but also by the many whose lives he enriched and guided.  Our nechama to his rebbitzin and family.  She should have the strength to enjoy the beautiful family she and Rabbi Garfunkel built together.

 Have a great Shabbos.

Rabbi Burnstein
