Shabbos Announcements 11/11/23

 Dear Members,

We are in the middle of a war that threatens not only  Acheinu Bnai Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel.  It is a battle that effects all of Am Yisroel,  We must continue to daven to Hashem that he protect all of Am Yisroel, particularly our young soldiers who are in the greatest of danger, as they continue to protect us from the enemy and the world around us that simply doesn’t understand.

 Many of us will be attending the rally this coming Tuesday, to show our support, and to show the world that we do care for each other.  Those who can attend, it is a very worthwhile event to attend.

   I am attaching a very beautiful letter below these announcements that I received from a member of our community, that I think conveys a very important message to all of us. I was very moved by its message and I hope you will be as well.

 Have a great Shabbos, and please keep your tefilos very much focused on and for our chayalim, Acheinu Bnai Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel, and our brothers and sisters throughout the world.

 There is tremendous interest in our community in joining Tuesday’s Washington rally in support of Acheinu Bnai Yisroel. Please read this important information:

• Registration for Federation busses closes on Sunday at 12:00 noon. Register as soon as possible if you want to travel on a Young Israel bus or with a designated group. Options are on the Federation registration page. Spaces are filling up.
• Register even if you are travelling on your own.
• The shul is working on davening arrangements for its bus.
• Check-in for the bus trip is at 12:00 am
• Departure will be from a Beachwood location at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. (note new time)
• The Federation will send full details and updates to all registrants well before departure, including where the Cleveland delegation will meet in Washington.
• The Federation website is jewishcleveland.org.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland has mobilized multiple resources to support Israel and energize our community during the crisis:

• The Federation is running an Israel Emergency Campaign alongside its 2024 Campaign for Jewish Needs. The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation announced a $15 million match to emergency gifts dollar-for-dollar, plus matching for annual Campaign gifts. Donate at jewishcleveland.org. Israel emergency dollars go directly and immediately toward urgent needs resulting from the crisis and to victims of terror.
• The Jewish Volunteer Network (JVN) has volunteer options to express our support for our brethren in Israel as well as older adults in Cleveland. Caring Calls to Older Adults in Cleveland: Connect with community members to show we care by making “caring calls.” Guidelines and a sample script will be provided.
