Please send in your Pesach Yizkor appeal pledges which will help fund the shul’s Youth Programming.

Volunteer needed to move an 8’ table from a home on Green Rd. to the shul.  Please contact the office if you are able to help with this.

Dear Member,

This past week the Jewish world lost one of its great rabbinic leaders.  Rabbi Nota Greenblatt, great great uncle of our member, Rabbi Avrohom Baruch Greenblatt, was a master in many areas of Jewish law.  He was one of the world experts in the laws of gittin (Jewish Divorce), in addition to being a mohel, sofer, expert in kashrus, eiruvin and much more.  He spent much of his career traveling around the country and farther, arranging and officiating at gittin; he helped many women, preventing them from remaining agunos.  He lived in Memphis, and helped build that community and affected the lives of many individuals and families over the years.  His passing represents the end of an era in which some great Torah personalities lived in small Jewish communities, and helped sustain and build Torah observant shules, schools and many other institutions.  I had the privilege to train under his guidance, particularly in the laws of gittin and to learn much from his wisdom, wit, and seichel hayashar.  Yehi zichro baruch.

On a separate note, please send in your Pesach Yizkor pledges at your earliest convenience so we can give our youth programming the funding needed to sustain our Shabbos morning children’s groups.

 Have a great Shabbos.

 Rabbi Burnstein
